Workshop Description
This is an advanced course that builds on the work in Course 1. Participants are required to have taken Course 1 during a previous school year. In collaboration with Pam Pelletier and the science department, this five session workshop focuses on how to support students in science thinking and writing. Participants will design both learning and assessment tasks for their current BPS science curriculum, which they will then use with their students between sessions. During the sessions, participants will work with their colleagues to assess students’ strengths and weaknesses, consider feedback to move students forward, and design instructional strategies to use in their classrooms. This work will support students in producing stronger writing for assignments that align with the Common Core for English Language Arts.
